In the class we’ll inform you of the changes to the law, because the gun laws do frequently change in and around Chicago. We’ll also remind you about important topics like gun-free zones and justified use of force. When you’re done with the refresher course, you’ll be ready to apply for your new CCW.

The Illinois CCW is valid for 5 years from the date that it is issued. Approximately 6 months before your CCW expires, you should receive a notice from the state that it is time to renew. You’ll need to take a refresher course before the state will process your renewal application.
