Our Teaching Method…
Our instructors will teach you live—in person, using specially developed training materials to teach bleeding control techniques. They will not only instruct you, but you’ll get hands on practice using three different bleeding control methods. We will continue to work with you until you demonstrate the correct skills to STOP THE BLEED® and save a life.

This course is instructed by certified instructors and includes both lecture as well as hands instructor-lead skills building. Students who attend and successfully demonstrate competency will receive a genuine nationally recognized training certificate.
Our Stop the Bleed training near Chicago is the most comprehensive in the area. We teach multiple techniques with life-like training aids, multiple different tourniquets and tourniquet applications, and wound packing. Bleeding is the number one cause of death after the initial injury.
Someone can be injured in their home, for example, broken glass, chopping food, lawnmower or other power equipment accidents, and falls. Firearm accidents are a real thing or an encounter with a violent individual does happen every day. Natural disasters such as tornados and earthquakes can cause bloody wounds. Vehicular accidents can cause severe trauma requiring immediate care to stop the bleeding. On-the-job injuries, especially at construction sites or in manufacturing facilities are a very likely place a traumatic injury can occur. Life-threatening wounds can occur literally anywhere.
In these situations, often your actions or inaction in the immediate seconds after an injury can determine if the injured person lives or dies. That is why it is so important that you can identify the injury, react to the situation and immediately stop the bleed. Those are the thing you’ll learn in Stop The Bleed.

Our classroom size is small on purpose so that we can ensure each student receives the attention they deserve to become a more confident to save a life. You’ll discover three simple methods to help save a life if someone is bleeding heavily: (1) Using your hands to press on a wound; (2) Packing a wound to control bleeding; (3) Putting on multiple types of tourniquets the right way. These skills can make a big difference in an emergency and might even save someone’s life.

STOP THE BLEED® was launched in October 2015 by the White House, with a call to action to begin training more people to become immediate responders during a bleeding emergency until professional help arrives. The ACS STOP THE BLEED® program is operated under a licensing agreement granted by the Department of Defense.
Stop the Bleed Vs. Similar Courses
Stop the Bleed is unlike a CPR or basic first aid course, because we dive deeper into controlling and stopping heavy blood loss due to traumatic events such as severe work place injury, auto accidents and gun shots. Our Red Cross certified First Aid for Severe Trauma (FAST) class is technically a “Stop the Bleed” course as well, however the FAST class was designed and developed for large groups of high school kids and is more focuses on presentation and lecture and less focused on the necessary hands on skills building that you’ll receive in our certified course from the American College of Surgeons.
